American pop-rock band

7' - 2004 - dir. Ron Mukherjee

The name Attila the Hunza combines the unlikely and the ironic: Attila the Hun, a fierce warrior from the fifth century and the Hunzas, a peaceful, farming-based people from Central Asia, renowned for having life spans of up to 135 years. These characteristics seem to best sum up the band - a merciless and beautiful spirit making music that kicks ass and that will endure contemporary trends. The music of Attila the Hunza is eclectic, upbeat and celebratory. Live performances are spiced with the theatrical, the seductive, and more than a little fun.

Attila the Hunza is a dynamic combination of two women vocalists backed by guitar, bass, sax, keys and percussion. The band borrows from a broad range of artists including: Bob Dylan, The Sex Pistols, Patti Smith, The Cowboy Junkies and more, as well as performing an increasing number of original compositions in the genres of melodic alternative, pop, and even a flavor of punk.
